At Viewport.ai, we have over 10 years of experience in developing Viewport, an advanced software solution for the process industry. Our software specializes in making large amounts of technical data comprehensible.

Cloud-Native Transformation

Fully processing tens of thousands of documents using advanced algorithms places high demands on the infrastructure on which the software runs.

We are in the process of moving key parts of our solution to cloud-native components. For this purpose, we have developed a simplified Proof-of-Concept (PoC) version. Your role is crucial in further developing and making this PoC more flexible, with the goal of testing and implementing various cloud-native technologies. Here you must evaluate trade-offs in terms of technical possibilities, manageability, and costs.

What you will be doing

- Improving, extending, and making the PoC application more flexible.

- Implementing and testing various technical cloud-native solutions, aimed at the entire dev-ops lifecycle, including monitoring and autoscaling.

- Add telemetry data to Grafana dashboards

- Using tools to automate deployments (such as Aspire, Dapr.IO, and Azure Developer CLI, Helm, Terraform, etc.)

- Working with a technology stack that includes C# with .NET 8.0, PostgreSQL, Dapr.IO, and various Azure services.

Requirements

- A proactive and investigative mindset.

- Proficiency in development and programming languages.

- Some knowledge of cloud-native solutions and tooling

- The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

We are an IT company based in Amsterdam. We provide technical information and knowledge management Software, called Viewport.ai. The software is delivered as product or as a service (SaaS) to their process industry customer in Water, Power, Oil and Gas and chemical sectors worldwide. Customers include Engie, WML, Total, Wintershall, BASF, and Spirit Energy.

The Viewport.ai software detects cross links between documents, drawings and data from various sources using techniques as OCR, image processing, and fuzzy matching. These cross links offers end users an unprecedented unified view of the available information and assists them in maintaining consistency across multiple domains.

What students are we looking for?

We are looking for graduated bright engineers with a broad interest and an entrepreneurial spirit. We believe that software should solve real-world problems for our customers, and should be easy to use. Having customer focus with an agile mindset is therefore a must. Development is done primarily in C#, JavaScript and SQL. For the adventurous type we may have projects abroad, e.g. UK, Norway, UAE, Singapore, and Australia.
